It was 1946 and two Italian brothers from Grandview, Ohio, had just completed their tours of duty in World War II—Al served in the Navy, while Ralph was in the Army. Raised in an entrepreneurial family, Al and Ralph together founded Sanese Services Inc., and began providing food services to booming, post-war central Ohio.
The company quickly prospered from the hard work and perseverance of Al and Ralph. Good food and good people became synonymous with the Sanese name, and the company grew to become a pillar in the community.
Ralph’s son, Ralph Jr., joined the family business at a very young age. But, instead of being chief cook and bottle-washer, Ralph Jr. started out as “chief truck washer,” making sure that all the trucks delivering Sanese products and services to customers around central Ohio were spotless.
Being a Sanese meant that the same family values were ingrained in Ralph Jr. as they were in his uncle and father. Over the years, Ralph Jr., who is now the company president, has worked in virtually every part of the business, which means that he knows Sanese Services inside and out, and he’s worked side-by-side with most of the people who work for Sanese. Many of the people have been with the company for almost as long as Ralph Jr. has. In an industry known for frequent employee turnover, there is very little turnover at Sanese, which is a testament to the company and its passion for people.
Ralph’s younger brother, Jeff, also works for the company. Together, the Sanese brothers carry on the family tradition and uphold the same ideals and values as the previous generation of Sanese brothers did.
